Facial sculpting with Restylane SubQ™:
Keeping your looks is not just about the management of facial lines and wrinkles but more about restoring lost volume in the skin. The good news is that Restylane SubQ provides deep dermal support providing help in the skin where it is needed to restore skin volume and give youthful shape and contour to the face. The effect is very natural, leaving your skin feeling firmer but soft to touch.

Restylane SubQ is suitable for a wide range of patients seeking to improve their facial shape and definition without resorting to surgery or having permanent devices.

Restylane SubQ provides a non-surgical mid face lift. Whilst restoring volume in the skin in the upper half of the face to give a more youthful shape, it also diminishes the appearance of nose to mouth lines, to give a fresher look.

Restylane SubQ also has the advantages of having long lasting results, in excess of a year, and being a nonpermanent treatment. The gel in Restylane SubQ biodegrades naturally and safely over time. Beauty trends come and go and you do not want to land yourself with a look that you may regret in years to come. You also need to retain flexibility and control over your looks because your face changes shape as you age. As with all disposable treatments, some localised bruising and swelling can occur after treatment with Restylane SubQ. These side effects are temporary and usually disappear after 48 hours.

What is Hyaluronic Acid?
A large percentage of our skin (approximately 56%) is made up from Hyaluronic Acid (HA), a highly absorbent substance that hydrates and creates volume. As we age, our levels of HA decrease, causing fine lines, wrinkles and dehydrated skin. Luckily, help is at hand with Restylane - a HA gel that is delivered directly into the skin to boost its appearance. There are a range of products available to suit every treatment need and subtly minimize creases and revive the complexion.

NASHA™ The science behind Restylane
NASHA (Non-Animal Stabilized Hyaluronic Acid) is the patented technology which is used in all of Restylane range of products. The hyaluronic acid is stabilized to create a long-acting substance. The stabilization involves the binding together of the HA molecules in a network.

Without this modification the hyaluronic acid would only stay in the tissue for days. Conversely, too much modification can affect the HA's most important properties negatively.

NASHA is based on a non-animal (biosynthetic) raw material which gives it a high degree of purity. The gel is only stabilized by less than one per cent which ensures a long lasting effect as well as minimal tissue disturbance which reduces the risk of allergic reactions. NASHA's properties also allow it to be integrated naturally into the body so that nutrients, hormones and other vital substances can pass through the gel.

Use of NASHA technology is clinically proven, with over 10 million treatments worldwide and an excellent safety profile of 1 in 20,000 patients experiencing an adverse event.

Important Safety Considerations for the Restylane family of products
Products in the Restylane family should not be used by people with previous bad allergies, particularly to microorganisms known as gram-positive bacteria, or by people with serious allergies to drugs that have previously required in-hospital treatment. These products should not be used by people with bleeding disorders. Products should not be delivered anywhere except the skin, just under the skin (Perlane and Perlane-L only), or in the lips (Restylane only). Restylane-L and Perlane-L should not be used by anyone with a known allergy to lidocaine.

Use at the site of skin sores, pimples, rashes, hives, cysts, or infection should be postponed until healing is complete. In these instances, product use could delay healing or make your skin problems worse. After treatment, you might have some swelling, redness, pain, bruising, or tenderness. These are typically mild in severity and normally last less than 7 days in nasolabial folds and less than 14 days in lips. Swelling may be more likely in patients under 36 years, and bruising may be more likely in patients over 35 years. Rarely, the doctor may use into a blood vessel, which can damage the skin. Although rare, red or swollen small bumps may occur. If you have had facial cold sores before, an use can cause an outbreak. To avoid bruising and bleeding, you should not use the products if you have recently used drugs that thin your blood or prevent clotting. Products should not be used during pregnancy, when breastfeeding, or in patients under 18 years for nasolabial folds.

Treatment volume should be limited to 6.0 mL in wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds, and limited to 1.5 mL per lip (Restylane only), as greater amounts significantly increase moderate and severe use site reactions. The safety or effectiveness of treatment in areas other than nasolabial folds and lips (Restylane only) has not been established in controlled clinical studies.
